Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I order with My Forever Yours?

I offer a personal service from beginning to end. From advising or seeking custom items to suit your requirements, to keeping in touch as much as possible with updates. I also offer competitive prices, in the hope that items are more widely affordable. Additionally I’m a registered member with the guild of jewellery designers.

How much is the Jewellery / Keepsake ?

Each item is individually priced, with some items intentionally priced lower with a reduced rate on my time to ensure that items may be more widely affordable. I offer 3 ways in which you can receive your items, 2 postal options – signed for and special delivery, and a collection service if local for you to pick up your order when completed if preferred.

Do you do custom work?

Yes absolutely, not only do I love to challenge myself and learn new skills upon the way, if required in relation to setting your precious inclusions, but the jewellery settings themselves can be customised upon request. Please message me via my social media to discuss this further.

How do I get my inclusion to you?

At present inclusions can be posted to me or arranged to be brought to me if local. I am working on order packs, which will be available very soon! If you are posting something incredibly precious, please consider sending it tracked, I cannot be responsible for any missing or undelivered post.

What happens if the item I ordered is out of stock with the supplier?

All jewellery is by order only from my suppliers or jeweller, as this is a small business. I do not hold bulk stock, items are only ordered per customer request. I try to keep my shop as up to date as possible however items can go out of stock at any time. Particularly in the case with sizeable rings as these can only be ordered once you have confirmed your size. In this case an alternative will be offered, or a full refund will be given if you prefer not to have an alternative.

Can you work with frozen breastmilk? Will it go bad when posting? Is there a limit to age of my breastmilk?

Frozen milk is not a problem; however, I do ask if you can defrost this in the fridge the night before posting, this is because frozen liquids do not travel well. The age of the breastmilk is not a problem as it is not being consumed, I’ve recently preserved breastmilk that was frozen 5yrs ago successfully for inclusion into jewellery.

Are items full silver? I can’t see a hallmark on all of them?

Please check each item description as material type is noted individually. All sterling silver items are British hallmark quality solid silver (925) most items are stamped 925. It is only a legal requirement to have silver items over 7.8 grams hallmarked, however most items do have them. I do also have some argentium silver pieces of jewellery they are 1% purer in silver than sterling, again it is only a legal requirement to have those hallmarked if they weigh more than 7.8 grams.

Does my pendant come with a necklace?

Yes, all pendants come with a 18 inch solid curb chain which is included in the price, I can source other styles of chains if you prefer, please get in touch if you would like to customise your order this way.

How should I care for my Jewellery?

Please avoid your precious jewellery or keepsakes coming in contact with hairspray, moisturiser, nail polish remover, perfume, hand sanitiser or any chemicals. Avoid wearing it in the shower or a swimming pool, and avoid contact with water in general, including washing your hands, resin is water resistant not waterproof. To keep the longevity of this item it’s not recommended wearing on a daily basis. Please avoid frequent exposure to the sun and UV. If you do wear it excessively, please be aware like other materials resin can get scratched and show signs of wear. Items will come with a care leaflet; it is important that you follow this guidance.

Will my item go yellow or change colour?

Sadly, it is known that over time resin can become discoloured due to many factors, although the main cause for resin to degrade is due to frequent and prolonged exposure to UV light/ Sunlight. This is a natural process; UV light is typically always harmful to everything on earth over time. However, this process can be slowed. When not in use please store your precious jewellery in a cool, dry place, a dark jewellery box would be ideal, and keep it out of direct sunlight and heat.

The resin I use is high quality, well tested resin which should delay any ageing process. I can say to date I have had no reports of any colour changes, however this is always a risk with this type of jewellery.

What if I want to cancel my order?

If you have changed your mind and no longer wish to order I offer a 24-hour cooling off period in which a full refund will be issued. However, anything after the 24 hours will be charged at a 50% refund for non customised orders only, this is due to admin costs and ordering of your jewellery from the supplier/jeweller which is non-returnable, especially on bespoke pieces. This does not apply to the purchase of gift vouchers which are non refundable.

Gift Vouchers

Gift vouchers are non refundable. These will be issued by card as default, but may be supplied in digital format if requested. Vouchers will be valid for 12 months from date of purchase. The expiry date may be extended at my forever yours discretion, please contact us if your voucher is due to expire and is unused to discuss options.

What if my item is damaged?

I am incredibly proud of the work I produce and stand by what I have made.
Every item is inspected and checked before posting out to you to ensure it is perfect. You have 60 days to report any faults or breakages, and 3 months to report any discolouration. It is important the care advice leaflet sent with every order is followed, if an order is returned with obvious water damage, chemical damage, or rough use then this will not be re-made.

Why does my jewellery have an imperfection?

Your item is handmade and unique to each order. Therefore, please note that you are purchasing a handmade item which is not factory made. At times there are very small imperfections in such items, but this will not impact on the functionality of the piece. If you are unhappy with the way your order has arrived, please quickly get in touch within 7 days of receiving your item.

How long will my order take?

The turnaround time for all custom jewellery is 8-10 weeks from the date the inclusion item arrives with me, sometimes this can be a lot sooner.  Please keep in mind I am a mum to 6, with 5 of those children at school age, and I work by myself. I will always do my best to complete your order as quickly as possible, however I do not work at weekends. If you would like your item made quickly, please let me know and we can discuss a rush my order option.

Why has my silver gone discoloured?

Silver overtime can tarnish, this sometimes may appear to be a rust type colour; the environment is a big factor to this. Please use a silver polishing cloth to keep your jewellery clean and store in a dry, cool, dark place when not in use.

Do you ship internationally?

Unfortunately, at present I do not ship inclusion jewellery internationally. There are strict rules about bodily fluids and DNA passing through customs.

How do I get in touch to discuss a custom order?
